It all started when…

I was born into the Performing Arts Industry and started acting at the age of 7. My life has been working as an Actor, Producer, Director and Writer, and that lived creative practice continues to sit at the heart of everything I do. Years spent in rehearsal rooms, on stages and behind the scenes gave me a deep understanding of the vulnerability, ambition and resilience it takes to make work. That first-hand experience has shaped my values, my leadership style and my unwavering belief in artist-first thinking.

Over time, my practice expanded into arts leadership, and I’ve since built a career as an Artistic Director and CEO leading complex cultural organisations through growth, change and increased ambition. I’ve been responsible for setting creative vision and strategic direction, building high-performing teams and boards, and strengthening governance, financial sustainability and public trust. I work at the intersection of creativity and systems—balancing bold artistic leadership with commercial and operational rigour—so organisations can be both creatively vibrant and structurally sound.

I’ve built trusted relationships across government, industry and the independent sector, often navigating challenging environments and periods of transformation. I’m proud to have shaped platforms and organisations that give artists greater visibility, agency and opportunity, while also thinking deeply about future-facing models for the arts. For me, leadership is not about standing apart, but about listening deeply, setting clear direction, and creating the conditions for others to thrive.

Alongside my professional life, I’m a mum, and that experience has profoundly influenced how I lead. It has grounded my work in empathy, clarity and care, and sharpened my ability to hold complexity, competing priorities and long-term responsibility. Juggling creativity, leadership and family life has made me resourceful, pragmatic and deeply human in my approach.

Being a trailblazer, to me, isn’t about ego or visibility—it’s about questioning inherited models, opening doors where they were closed, and doing the work required to leave the sector stronger, more inclusive and more resilient than I found it. At heart, I’m driven by a belief in the power of artists, the importance of courageous leadership, and the role culture plays in shaping healthier, more connected communities.
